1962 Williams “King Pin” Pinball Machine
King Pin is a rare one player bowling theme pinball game by Williams. Released in 1962 with only 1250 units produced.
This pinball machine was refurbished a few years ago and the cabinet looks pristine with new backglass. The playfield presents nicely for a game over 60 years old. It operates on a 110v USA plug via a step down transformer (included).
The game is based on the same strike and spare system as a real ten pin bowling game. The game has a symmetrical playfield where 10 rollover buttons representing pins are located in the middle of the playfield. Once the rollover button is triggered the corresponding pin is lit up on the backglass. Hitting all the rollover buttons 1-10 would score a ‘Strike!’.
The machine has two sets of flippers that fire the ball up the playfield. If three strikes are scored in a game, a replay is awarded. Making 2 strikes lights ‘Special’ in the gobble holes on either side of the playfield. Also making 3 strikes lights ‘Special’ in the top centre rollover lane.
Replays were also awarded for making the high scores, shown on the front apron and for matching the last number on the score reels to the number lit on the backglass.
